Activity # 4 ( use Dvolver)

Create a movie
After reading Chapter 10 of "The Stranger" by Norman Whitley you must create a dialogue that took place in the Corner Shop, specifically in the Special Order´s room between Dave Slatin and one of the following characters:  Mike Bailey  ( the football player) or Mr Riseman ( the businessman from London). You should remember that both left their briefcases and left the shop pale, nervous and almost crying! We never knew what happened!

To fulfill your task you must use http://www.dvolver.com/ movie maker.
Read the following guidelines that will help you create your video.
1- write http://www.dvolver.com/ in your browser.
2- Click on "Make a movie".
3- Select one background and one sky. This will set the scene for your movie.
4-Click on "next" at the bottom of the image.
5- Select a pattern of interaction between the characters.
6- Choose two characters for your story.




7- Write the lines of the dialogue, one by one.  You are given 3 exchanges to work. If you need more, at the end you should add another scene.
8- Press next and you will get several types of background music to choose from.
9- Choose a title  for your movie and a design to introduce it. Write your name as well. (you are the director !)
10- Press "See preview". Your film will be ready and you can see it right now.
11- Write your name and the name of the people you will send the film to. In this way, you will later be able to access your project.

Activity #3 (use mixbook)

Create your album !
We have been working with the unit plan on Experiences. We have read about people who have experienced wild trips to Africa, extreme sports like bungee jumping or cultural trips to India.
You are now requested to work on a personal experience you had (real or an imaginary one!) You must upload your photos or pictures and add an individual comment on each one.



Follow the next tips to create your mixalbum.
1- Type http://www.mixbook.com/ .
2- To be able to create an album you must first sign up. Use your mail and a password you will later remember.
3-Press the button "create" on the tool bar at the top of the screen.
4- You will have to complete a form stating the title of your project, category and description.
5. Press on the "create a mixbook album" at the bottom of the form.
6- Next, select a size for your album.
7- You will now have to select a theme. (Summer holidays, Autumn, Winter, Contemporary, etc.) Once you selected your choice, press choose theme at the bottom.
8- Click on the button "add pictures" and look for your pictures in the correct folder in your computer. You have to add them one by one.
9- You will be given a wide variety of backgrounds to choose from with different colours and designs.
10. After choosing a design drag your photo ( that will be place on the left hand of your computer) on to the album.
11- Add text . Select the type you like and the size and colour you prefer.
12- You can also enhance your album by using different stickers that you can place wherever you want.
13- Remember to save your project so as to be later seen. You can email it to your friends as well!

Activity #2 (use GoAnimate)

Create a TV interview
We have been working on a unit plan related to future plans and intentions. We have read about Celebrities´plans for the future. You are now required to create a video using GoAnimate, about a TV presenter who is interviewing a celebrity from the world of sports. The interview should contain questions about his/her plans, new matches, tours, championships or tournaments, next opponents,  etc.
Read the following guidelines that will help you create the video:
1- log in in http://www.goanimate.com/ Enter your email and a password you will later remember !
2- Click on the button "create" from the tool bar on the top of the webpage.

3-You will see various scenes and situations. Choose one that will allow you to create a Tv interview.
4- A new page will open up. In this page select one scene.
5- Once you select the scene press "siguiente" and select the characters of your movie.
6- Press "siguiente once more and introduce your dialogues. Be careful to select an appropriate flag because this will determine the country (UK or US).
7- Press "preview" and you will see how your video will be seen.
8- Finally press the button "save". In this way you will be able to send your video or access it whenever you want!

Activity #1- ( use voki): Characterization

Introduce  your favourite character in the story.
After reading the short novel "The Stranger"  by Norman Whitney you have to choose a character you liked.
The characters are: Dave Slatin, Anna, Peter, Greta Gordon, Mike Bailey, Mr Riseman and Mr. Hart. Choose one of these characters. You will have to play their part and introduce yourself. Talk about physical and personal description, personality and what is their role in the story.
You will do this using Voki (http://www.voki.com/). Read the following instructions that will help you create your character.

  1. Create an account in voki.com ( use your email and a password you will later remember!)
  2. Customize your character. Select from a wide variety of characters (man, women, young, old, etc.)
  3. Select one from different mouths and  hairsyles.
  4. Select an appropriate clothing. You can choose between: casual, sport, dressy or uniform.
  5. In the bling section you will be able to add glasses and jewelery to your avatar.
  6. When you have finished press the green button Done and pass on to the voice section.
  7. In the Voice, you can type the voice or record it yourself
  8. Finally, choose a background to place your character in a scene.
  9. When you have finished publish your voki and send it to an email account. You will later be able to access your voki from a link in the email you have given.
